k.7.  Rebecca,  ged. 16/02/1823, Oldbury, Worcester. x 20/04/1846, Wath upon Dearne, Yorkshire met Samuel LAMBERT, geb. 1814, s.v. Chaverall Lambert en Ann Gill.

Rebecca was die dogter van Joseph Wortley en Mary Nightingale.

As kinders bring hulle tyd in die Bradfield workhouse deur.

Volgens die Bradfield workhouse records van 6 November 1831 kom dit voor asof die familie van Rowley Regis af weg is.  Joseph was werkloos.  Op die 7de neem Joseph vir Mary, Rebecca en William daar uit. Mary kom op 5 Desember terug om die ander twee meisies Ann en Caroline te kom haal.

vind ons die volgende inskrywing in 1831:

  
1831.  Nov 6.  Mary Wortley removed from Rowley Regis Stafford (age 45) her husband out of employ;  Ann their daughter (age14);  Caroline daughter (age 11);  Rebecca daughter (age 8);  William their son (age 7).  7 Nov.  Husband takes wife and Rebecca and William to fetch the other two in a fortnight.  5th Dec. Mary Wortley taken the other two children.

1831.  Mary, Ann, Caroline, Rebecca and William Wortley moved from Rowley Regis, Staffordshire.  Joseph Wortley, the husband, having left them.  Nov. 7.  Husband’s taken home.  Dec 5.  Mother fetches them out once ? for their maintenance.

30 November 1832.  Mary word vergesel deur haar weduweedogter, Sarah Rohnen,  Ann,  Rebecca en William.  Terwyl die familie in die workhouse was, was daar rekords van die dogters, wat aan skoene gewerk het.


1832.  30 Nov.   Mary, wife of Joseph Wortley, Hill Foot, with daughter Sarah Bohnen a widow – husband runaway – moved from Rowley, Staffordshire a year ago here.  3 children at home.  Ann 16, Rebecca 8, William 7.  Husband worked for  Henry Ward,  Philadelphia.

Op 29 Januarie 1833 gaan haal Joseph vir Mary en William.  Ann en Rebecca bly daar tot 1 Maart  1833.

Rebecca het 'n buite-egtelike seun Joseph Wortley wat in 1839 gebore is en op 23/06/1839 Rawmarsh, Yorkshire gedoop is.  Hy verskyn saam met Rebecca, William en hulle ouers in die 1841 census en saam met haar ouers in die 1851 census.
